The Blue Dog was learning not to be afraid of white space. He learned from Annie Dillard that cartographers call blank spaces on a map “sleeping beauties.”

The Blue Dog found out that if you play the bird’s song on the app, sometimes they come to you. But he felt guilty doing that, like he was making a prank call or something.

Of late, his “special occasions” have been coming more often. Did I hear a doorbell on TV?

There really was a pig on the corner. But then he moved when his human moved. He was nicer than the dog that lived there who always growled at the Blue Dog. The pig snuffled in a friendly way.
